Google Changes Local Extensions

Google is changing the way "location extensions" will be attached to AdWords listings. Instead of specifying location extensions in your AdWords account, Google will take the information from your Google My Business account (formerly Google Places for Business). The good thing about this change is that you will be able to enter your business location information in one place and have it used in all of your AdWords campaigns. The bad news is that you won't be able to specify unique locations for various campaigns. We doubt that will come up for most of our clients, but that is the downside.Google will be automatically upgrading accounts in September to use the My Business information. If you have not already configured your My Business information, you should do so now.If you do not want to use location extensions, you can opt out by filling out a form by August 25th. You may want to do this if showing a retail location is not something you want to do in your ads.If you have any questions or need any assistance with this change, contact us. We'll be glad to help.
