Holiday Online Sales Forecasted to Reach $52 Billion
While some sectors of our economy may be slumping, online sales continue to climb. According to a recent report by Forrester Research, online retail sales this holiday season will reach $52 billion in the US. That is a 16 percent increase over last years figures.
More consumers are shopping online, and many find the convenience of browsing at home on their own computer appealing. In fact, a survey conducted by Forrester of online consumers revealed that shoppers will make 37 percent of their purchases online this holiday season, compared with 30 percent last year.
The “US Online Holiday Retail Forecast, 2010” report produced by Forrester, also revealed that 87 percent of the US online buyers with a household income of $100,000 or more will spend the same or more online this year compared with last year.
Overall, consumers are willing to shop and spend online. And this holiday season, expect more shoppers to be looking online for purchases.
